NATPL Vision

The vision of Tech Prep is to provide every student an opportunity to participate in a seamless educational system that includes the academic and technical knowledge and skills required for continued education and workforce readiness.

NATPL Mission

The mission of NATPL is to provide a forum:

  • to advocate for the growth and continuous improvement of Tech Prep,
  • to support the development of a consistent model for Tech Prep, and
  • to enhance the growth of Tech Prep through the coordination of resources.
NATPL Goals

Legislation

To influence policy and legislation through advocacy

  • Increase awareness of Tech Prep benefits at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Generate legislative and financial support of Tech Prep at the federal state, and local levels.
  • Insure reauthorization of Tech Prep funding.
  • Maintain a discreet funding stream for Tech Prep.

Programs

To establish minimum criteria for quality Tech Prep initiatives

  • Research current successful practices.
  • Reach consensus on the minimum elements required tor quality Tech Prep initiatives, including best practices, development of program and curriculum frameworks, evaluation and assessment.
  • Disseminate findings to the states, policy makers, liaison associations, etc.

Networks

To enhance collaborative relationships through networking

  • Foster collaborative working relationships between liaison associations.
  • Recruit the support of employers, parents, teachers, students, counselors, school board members, and labor.
  • Conduct an annual NATPL conference in conjunction with the NTPN National Conference.
  • Provide a forum for members, liaison associations, and business/industry to report on their organizations Tech Prep activities and innovative practices.
  • Recruit the support of employers, parents, teachers, students, counselors, school board members, and labor unions for Tech Prep.
